Jennifer Whitfield

Jennifer Whitfield Director

Jennifer Whitfield is the Program Manager for aggieTEACH and is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. She a received a B.A. in mathematics from The Colorado College in 1993, a M.S. in mathematics from Texas A&M University in 2000, and is currently working toward her doctorate in mathematics education. Whitfield is a lifetime certified Texas secondary mathematics teacher and former high school mathematics instructor within both the Bryan (1995-1999) and College Station (1999-2001) Independent School Districts. She came to A&M in 2001 and has taught a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, has led numerous mathematics professional development workshops for in-service teachers, and has succeeded in attracting substantial funding support for aggieTEACH. Jennifer has received several awards, including induction into the 2013-2014 Texas A&M University System Chancellor's Academy of Teacher Educators, the Texas A&M College of Education and Human Development's John E. Trott Jr. Award in Student Recruiting (2012), the Texas A&M System's Student Led Award for Teaching Excellence (2009) and both the Texas A&M Department of Mathematics' Outstanding Service (2009) and Outstanding Teaching (2005) Awards. In addition, she was honored in 2013 by the Texas A&M student body as a Fish Camp Namesake.

Laura Wilding

Laura Wilding Program Assistant

Laura Wilding received her B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University in 1985. In 2013 she became the Program Assistant for aggieTEACH at Texas A&M University. More specifically, she oversees the aggieTEACH Mentor and Induction Program, which provides support and resources for aggieTEACH graduates in the beginning years of their teaching careers. Prior to joining aggieTEACH, Laura was a middle and high school mathematics teacher for 14 years in Texas, Illinois and Japan. While teaching at College Station Middle School from 2004 – 2012, Laura mentored numerous clinical teachers and pre-service teachers, served as a Curriculum Coach, worked as an Instructional Coach and was the 2008 – 2009 Teacher of the Year for her campus. From 2011 – 2012 Laura was a mentor teacher for the STEM Academy at Texas A&M University.
